DJI Mini 2 Secrets That You Didn’t Know About

The Mini 2 drone has many new features that are much like the Mavic Air 2, making it a good competitor; however, what's interesting is not so much what's been added but how they've approached function allocation.

DJI Mini 2 is one of the newest drones on the market. It has a new controller, a new app and new features, but it is a drone that almost matches the Mavic Mini. With this drone DJI has tried to combine the best of the Mavic Mini with the Mavic Air 2. In this blog post we will delve into DJI Mini 2 secrets that you didn't know.

1. Real Weight

How much does the DJI Mini actually weigh? According to YouTuber mrkentdotcom, it weighs a whopping 238 grams with a 2250mAh battery, propellers, microSD, etc.

The standard weight of the aircraft is 242g (including the battery, propellers, and microSD card). The product weight may vary due to different materials. Please refer to the actual product. Registration not required in some countries and regions. Check local rules and regulations before use.

2. DJI Mini 2 Controller Support

This could be especially helpful if you misplace your controller or forget to charge the controller. You could use your DJI Mini 2 controller.

  • DJI Mini 2 Controller + DJI Mavic Air 2
  • DJI Mini 2 Controller + DJI Air 2S
  • DJI Mavic Air 2 Controller + DJI Mini 2
  • DJI Mavic Air 2 Controller + DJI Air 2S
  • DJI Air 2S Controller + DJI Mavic Air 2
  • DJI Air 2S Controller + DJI Mini 2

Sidenote, the DJI Smart Controller (purchased separately or in a drone bundle) is compatible with the DJI Mini 2, DJI Air 2S, Mavic Air 2, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Enterprise Series of drones.

3. Supports EU GPS Systems

This means that we can take our DJI Mini 2 from the USA to European countries and fly reliably!

4. Charging Hub Compatibility

The charging hub, which comes with the DJI Mini 2 Fly More Bundle, is compatible with four different battery types for the DJI Mini 2 and Mavic Mini batteries.

  1. DJI Mini 2 US/Global (2400mAh)
  2. DJI Mini 2 Japanese (1100mAh)
  3. Mavic Mini US/Global
  4. Mavic Mini Japanese

Note that the new DJI Mini 2 charging hub can charge the DJI Mini 2 batteries thirty minutes faster than three Mavic Mini batteries in the old charging hub.

5. Aircraft Status Indicator

See photo below for the location of the Aircraft Status Indicator/QuickTransfer Button.

Press and hold the QuickTransfer button to switch between QuickTransfer mode (Wi-Fi connection) and flight mode (OcuSync 2.0 video transmission connection). If firmware is not updated to v1.1.0.0 or above, press the QuickTransfer button twice.

DJI Mini 2 User Manual

This button allows you to enable wireless file transfer between the DJI Mini 2 and your phone or tablet. You can expect speed up to 20MB/s, which is pretty good considering there are no cables required.
