Mavic Air 2 is the new flight time master with 34 minutes!

The Mavic Mini is fantastic with a maximum flight time of 30 minutes. It is the drone that I recommend to anyone who wants to get into this niche and not spend too much money to get started.

Camera Specs

The Mavic 2 Pro is the winner for best camera because it has the largest sensor, which gives you better overall photos, especially when it gets darker outside.

  • Mavic 2 Pro > Mavic Air 2 > Mavic Mini

2nd: Mavic Air 2 with its 1/2-inch sensor, followed by the Mavic Mini with its 1/2.3-inch sensor.

Mavic Air 2:

Side note on Mavic Air 2: It has a 48MP Quad Bayer image sensor for full-size photos, which is like some smartphones on the market, or you have the option of a 12MP output. Keep in mind that the 48MP photos will be a bit grainier, but have additional details if you take the time to zoom in all the way.
Also, at 48 megapixels, you will see 20MB JPEG OR 100MB DNG (raw file output) for file sizes.

You will want to look at investing in larger memory cards for these large files:

Ease of Use

Once again, the Mavic Mini is a great drone if you've just started flying. Instead of the DJI GO 4 app, there's an easy-to-use app for first-time flyers called DJI Fly.

DJI Fly is also available for Mavic Air 2! It has a slick user interface, showing popular places near you to fly, edit within the app and share your content with friends and family. It is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play.

  2. Mavic Air 2
  3. Mavic Mini

Mavic 2 Pro is still top in terms of image quality and overall build quality. To me, these are important factors when choosing a drone, especially when you see that you are becoming more serious in the field and becoming a licensed drone pilot. Your customers will certainly appreciate the quality of the aircraft camera and the video filmed with the high-quality gimbal.

Mavic Air 2

The Mavic Air 2 is said to be built from parts worth about $135, but who knows? Maybe all three drones will cost within $100-150 to actually be built? Although you have to imagine that the drones all come put together, plus you get a remote controller and packaged along with all the amazing technology DJI is known for.

As I said earlier, you will want to invest in a few larger memory cards when you consider the Mavic Air 2, especially if you are interested in shooting 48 MP images.

Mavic Mini

Mavic Mini is an excellent option if you are just starting out or want a second drone that you do not have to worry about so much. You could fly it definitely through some tight spaces and certainly create interesting videos. :) If you are not quite ready to edit 4K with your computer, this could also be a consideration for you, and for travel, it would be so easy to hide in your luggage or together in your DSLR camera bag.
